i don't have any new diy projects right now..i was busy throwing a dinner party at my place this weekend. this is the first sit down dinner i have hosted, it was a lot of work, but totally worth it. we made stuffed crab mushrooms, roasted butternut squash soup, and a delicious cheese ball with basil and prochutto, (yes the cheese ball is back), crepes filled with artichoke hearts, a cranberry & gorganzola salad...and for dessert a fresh berry trifle and these brownies with a peppermint candy top. umm it was soo good. the topping for the brownies were fun to make, i melted candy canes and the round peppermints in the oven until they were flat, and then cut them before they cooled, and put them on top of chocolate ganache with the brownies underneath.
i loved decorating - here are just a few more pics to share, i couldn't resist buying some ribbon candy!- (found it at Michaels) and the center pieces are filled with glass garland and a few ornaments-all vintage.

WOW, you have been really busy.. great job on all the little crafty items... they are awesome... don't you just love the SLR... once you try it you'll never go back...plus you get great photos... no more blurriness... take care...

Ribbon Candy, chocolate straws and clear toy candy. I love the old fashion holiday candies. So, what time should I arrive for dinner?
