I took a bunch of pictures in New York- So i'm going to break it up into 3 posts. This post has a bunch of pictures i took at the show and around NYC of cool things! Lots of inspiration and eye candy!! mmmm......make me want to sew :) I need to get these!
Love the graphics on this chair.
There were huge containers filled with designs from different Finnish designers you could walk through. Marimekko had one too, her new fabrics are great!
Lots of pink roses perfectly lined up!
For some reason the images in the table remind of super mario bros. So cool!
Love this China with the mixed designs - I think it's from Areaware.
This rug is a mix of patterns & colors, very different how it changes shape!
And i'm totally not sure what this is....we walked past it in the meatpacking district. I'm not sure if it's a store....too bad it was closed, i wanted to walk through the plastic balls. (anyone know anything about this place?)
The next post will have all the Hambly booth pictures in it!
i have to say it's nice to be back home in california. i ended up getting sick while in new york...which was such a bummer, but it didn't stop me too much from having a great trip. a few highlights... the many galleries and cool stores in williamsburg icff - tons or really cool innovative products there. these are glass white boards another invitation design by my sister using our hambly photobooths at bars ...and the pic of the bar in the previous post was at the W-tuscany
I'll post the winners from the May giveaway once i'm back in town next monday (it may take some time to read through all of them). just wanted to do a quick post with some pics from new york. the show is going great so far. my sister made some great invitations using our screen prints papers & overlays, that are just perfect for the stationary show. they turned out so awesome!
i still haven't had much time to check out anything else in the show, but ugly dolls have a display down the aisle from us and they are just too cute!
chandeliers, owls and woodgrain are still a big trend! our hotel has this cool chandelier on the whole side of the bar.
i'm back from nyc....life sure moves fast there. i can't believe i'm already home. It seems like such a long time ago i was at the NYC market with my friend Cara, but it was really less than a week ago. i uploaded a bunch of new necklace designs (from the artists market) on etsy last night :) ... the chandeliers*, birds*, owls*... tons of inspiration in that city! it was also design week, and lots of galleries & shops were hosting different events while i was there. here's a mosaic of some of my favorite things. the pics are on flickr . -got some great ideas for home decor.....oh and i'm also now obsessed with metal!!! I was staying at my friends place in Brookyln, she works as a goldsmith (plus she's also a jewelry designer & dancer....), and just took a welding class. She is making the most creative & unique things, my favorite is her steel bed frame!...and the scraps of corregated metal she has is the coolest! i was using it to display my glass on...i think i see some welding classes in my future! her studio where she lives is also totally industrial, you have to take an elevator up to get there, where you have to shut a metal gate, & the doors open in the middle with a pulley, and you have to use manual controllers to works the elevator....loved it!!
